It’s Time to De-Socialize the Country

Posted on: November 16, 2014

I believe conservatives are in a particularly advantageous position to make changes to the socialist structure of the country and some have been saying “not so fast.” Really? Not so fast? This opportunity has been a long time coming and was hard-fought.

As a result, I sent this letter to my Congressman and Senator:

Now that the Republicans did so well in the mid-terms there has been talk, even on conservative talk radio that the Republicans should not proceed so quickly with plans to make the changes many conservatives have been hoping for, that the Republican majority should wait before taking any action.

In my opinion nothing could be further from the truth. Rather, there is no time to waste and it is the Republicans in name only and Democrats that are suggesting the delay, not true conservatives. Conservatives have been waiting, working for this opportunity for decades and now some supposed conservatives want to wait and delay the opportunity? That’s the wrong answer.

It’s time for true conservatives to get to work and utilize the opportunity that exists to “de-socialize” the country. With today’s political-military climate and other factors such as terrorism, things can change overnight and who knows who will have a majority in the house and senate? Conservatives might not have another alignment like this for decades. It’s time to take advantage of it.

Added 11/17/14: I would add that it is not something that should be done cold-turkey. I’ve blogged in the past that any de-socialization of the country should be done over a period of perhaps ten years with the laws implementing a gradual weaning from government programs so as not to cause any “socioeconomic shock.”

There is no time to lose. It’s time to get to work.

Sincerely,

William Thien

Reblogged this on William Thien and commented:

Given the current political climate there is no time like the present to address the socialist condition of the country. I know this because this particular observation has brought considerable consternation from the collective. It’s one thing to create social programs to ensure a social safety net. It’s another entirely to enslave the common working person to the yoke of taxation to pay for such programs those that cover the cost of paying for women having substantial numbers of children out-of-wedlock (over half of all babies born last year were born to single mothers). Clearly I fall on the side in favor of protecting the taxpayer from the burdensome nature of such social programs that enable what I call the government sponsored “sex for money” social system. Whether the fairer sex, if we can call them that anymore with any accuracy that describes the entire population, favors the de-socialization of such programs or not is not my concern.
